TAROKO National Park

The main attraction of the park is the Taroko gorge or the “marble gorge”, which stretches for 19 kilometers through the mountains of the east coast through the center of the Taroko park. At the entrance to the gorge lies the village of Tianxian, which is widely known for its suspension bridge, colorful pagoda and an ultramodern five-star hotel. Around Taroko Gorge, there are many hiking and trekking trails, hot springs, temples and ancient Ami villages.

Entrance to the park is absolutely free. It is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed every second Monday of the month).

How to get there: first you need to get to Hualien city. Special buses run from the Hualien railway station to the park (departure at 6:30, 8:40, 10:50 and 13:50).
